September, 2001 at Camp Fife which is on the Bear River just downstream (west) of Cutler Dam. Activity Stations included a large orienteering course and a superb pioneering event with poles and lashings. We held a night activity: gallon (4 liter) sized water jugs containing glowing light sticks (Cyalume lightsticks) strung with twine at a distance of about 30 yards. Scouts formed teams, two holders and a shooter, and using slingshots and water baloons, attempted to hit one of the glowing water jugs. It was considerable fun and we repeated it the next morning. The big event was the relay race; starting with teams of four persons on a pair of 2x4 boards working in unison, then a bb-gun shoot, knot tying, and a foot race with a baton. It allowed for the troops to utilize different kinds of experts to achieve the best outcome.
Photos by Michael Gordon. Many more exist but I have chosen for this show those that are not distinctly attributable to a specific Scout or Troop. I do pick on scoutmasters that I know well; Orson is the supreme woodcarver whose work you will see close-up.
