Friday evening the troops and other persons participating in this event arrive at Miller Aquatics Center, also known as "BLAB" (Bear Lake Aquatics Base) and enjoy a pasta supper starting at 6 p.m.. Camp overnight at BLAB and early in the morning at 0730 the first riders start. It was cold, 42 degrees F at 7 a.m.

BLAB is on the east side of the lake, north of Laketown. The riders proceed south toward Laketown, then west around the southern end of the lake. A feed station is at the rest stop at the southwest corner of the lake. Then north through Garden City to Camp Hunt. Another feed station is at Camp Hunt.

Continue North to "Bear Corner" where a little cafe or diner called "Bear Cave" is located as well another feed station. Someone's goat had gotten loose and was wandering around on the road so someone else tied it up with a rope to a pole.

Proceed east from Bear Corner past the pumping station to the next feed staion at the northeast corner of the lake.

Proceed south past another feed station then to the finish like back at "BLAB" and receive a very fine, heavy and well-made medallion.
